What we process

When you create a job, we process the YouTube link and preferences you submit, the resulting video and caption metadata, an anti-abuse representation of your IP address, request timing, job progress, and operational error data. We do not ask for an account, name, or payment information at launch.

Why we process it

We use this information to enumerate requested public videos, fetch and format available captions, let you resume a job, enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, measure real proxy costs, diagnose failures, and protect the service.

Transcript cache

Successful public caption data may be cached so later requests do not need another upstream fetch. The cache is organized by video and caption track, not by the identity of the person who requested it. Transcript and job pages are excluded from search indexing and are not offered as a public browsable library.

Service providers

Cloudflare provides the website, edge security, bot checks, job metadata, queues, and transcript storage. A relay hosting provider and residential proxy provider carry carefully limited caption requests. Google and YouTube receive requests necessary to resolve public sources. These providers process technical data under their own terms and privacy policies.

Turnstile

Cloudflare Turnstile evaluates whether a new job submission appears automated. It may receive device and request information. Cached transcript reads do not require the bot check.

Local preferences

Your light or dark theme preference is stored in your browser. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used at launch.

Retention

Public caption content may be retained permanently to reduce repeated upstream requests. Job, quota, security, and operational records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, legal compliance, and abuse prevention. Short-lived server logs may include network identifiers.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information to service providers, to comply with valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, rights holders, the service, or the public.

Your choices

You can avoid submitting a link, clear local theme storage through your browser, and request deletion of associated job metadata when you can identify the job URL. Cached public caption data may be retained unless a valid rights or legal request requires removal.
